01المعيار

UAYDF is a professional working environment. Treat every person in it as a peer with something to contribute, because that is why they were selected.

Disagree with ideas as sharply as you like. Do not diminish the person holding them.

02التحرش والتمييز

Harassment of any kind is prohibited. This includes unwelcome sexual attention or contact, sustained disruption of sessions, intimidation, stalking, unwanted photography or recording of an individual, and abusive or demeaning comments.

Discrimination on the basis of nationality, ethnicity, race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or socioeconomic or migration background is prohibited without exception.

Deficit language about African participants, or about any national or regional group, has no place at this Forum. No participant is a beneficiary here.

03السلطة والوصول

Senior participants, mentors and partner representatives hold real power over the career prospects of emerging leaders in the room. Using Forum access to solicit personal relationships, or offering opportunity conditional on anything other than merit, is a serious breach.

Recruitment conversations, investment conversations and mentorship offers are welcome. They must be made openly and must be capable of being repeated in front of the secretariat.

04السرية

The closed day-two session runs under Chatham House rules: the information may be used, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of a speaker may be revealed.

Collaboration Lab material shared in confidence — unreleased products, financials, unpublished research — stays in the room unless its owner agrees otherwise in writing.

05الإعلام والتسجيل

Do not photograph, film or record an individual who has not consented. Media consent is opt-in and recorded separately from registration, and the secretariat holds the list.

Accredited media operate under the same rule, and the closed session is not open to them.

06الإبلاغ عن مخاوف

A named reporting officer is on site for the duration of the Forum and is identified in the participant briefing. A confidential grievance channel is live before, during and after the Forum.

Reports are taken seriously, handled confidentially, and never routed through anyone named in the report. Retaliation against a person who reports in good faith is itself a breach of this code.

07العواقب

Depending on severity, breaches may result in a warning, removal from a session, removal from the Forum without refund of any support provided, withdrawal of Fellows status, exclusion from future editions, and where appropriate notification of the person's organisation or the relevant authorities.

Decisions are made by the secretariat in consultation with the reporting officer.
